How to Apply to Serve on the RQD Board of Directors

by Regroupement québécois de la danse

Composition of the Board of Directors

The RQD Board of Directors is composed of thirteen (13) members:

  • five (5) corporate members and five (5) individual members elected for a two (2) year term by the members at the Annual General Meeting (AGM);
  • three (3) directors appointed by the Board for a one (1) year term. This appointment must be ratified by all RQD members.

Only individual and professional corporate members in good standing are eligible to vote and be elected to the Board of Directors.

Both delegates of the same corporate member are eligible to vote, but only one may run for election to the Board of Directors.

Representativeness

All eligible members are invited to apply, regardless of their experience. We welcome people from different backgrounds and with diverse opinions. The RQD Board of Directors aims to bring together complementary expertise and ensure adequate representation of different sectors of the practice, different types of organizations, and artistic, cultural, territorial, and generational diversity.

Change Regarding Spontaneous Applications

Until now, it was possible to nominate oneself or someone else at the time of the elections during the AGM. Under the new RQD general regulations adopted by the Board of Directors, spontaneous applications for the AGM will now only be accepted if the number of applications received is less than the number of positions to be filled on the Board of Directors.

How to Apply?

Six (6) positions will be up for election at our next AGM on October 21:

  • three (3) in the individual members’ college;
  • three (3) in the corporate members’ college.

To apply, you must be a member in good standing of the RQD and send your application to Daniel Bastien, election chair duly appointed by the Board of Directors, at dbastien@quebecdanse.org, no later than October 16, 2025, at 3 p.m.

  3. A photo of yourself (high resolution, JPEG format).
