Josephine Nagel

Chorégraphe, Interprète, Répétiteur / directeur des répétitions, Enseignant.e, Vidéaste

Josephine Nagel is a choreographer and dancer from Somba K’e (Yellowknife, Northwest Territories) but is now based in Tiohtià:ke/Montreal. Josephine has trained in contemporary, tap, jazz, ballet, lyrical, musical theatre, modern, acting and classical voice over the last sixteen years and is completing her BFA in Contemporary Dance at Concordia University under the direction of Michael Montanaro, Angelique Willkie, Sasha Klienzplatz, Daniel Villeneuve, Isabelle Poirier, Kelly Keenan and Alanna Kraaijeveld. Over the years Josephine has performed in hundreds of shows across Canada and the United States, including Broadway in New York City. She has been teaching and choreographing since the age of 12 for studios across Canada as well as guest teaching for prestigious schools such as Canada’s National Ballet School. Josephine’s artistic interests are based on the incorporation and abstraction of traditional technical methods through the lens of contemporary dance. To construct physically dynamic structures that harmoniously interact with sound; both in its presence and absence.
