Karen Fennell

Interprète, Chorégraphe

Karen Fennell is a contemporary dance artist originally from Newfoundland, based in Montreal since 2004. Since completing her professional training in 2007, she has performed in the work of many prominant choreographers such as Tedd Robinson, Sarah Joy Stoker, Dana Gingras, Sasha Kleinplatz, Maria Kefirova, Erin Flynn, and Eroca Nicols (among others). She also collaborates frequently with visual artists Chloe Lum and Yannick Desranleau. As a choreographer, her most recent projects have been interdisciplinary co-creations – CLOSER (2017, with video / sound artist Nikki Forrest), and the trouble with reality (2015, with musician Jackie Gallant). Karen is currently pursuing the creation of her first self-solo project, which she will begin to develop as Associate Artist in Residence at the Atlantic Centre for the Arts, under the guidance of Master Artist, Deboray Hay. In addition to her work as a dance artist, Karen is also a certified instructor of the GYROTONIC® and GYROKINESIS® Methods.
