Alexandra MacLean

Interprète

Alex is originally from Halifax, Nova Scotia Where She trained at the Maritime Conservatory of Performing Arts and one year at the Royal Winnipeg Ballet School and has spent summers at the National Ballet School of Canada and Toronto Dance Theatre. 

Alex graduated from the Ailey/Fordham program in New York in 2012 with a BFA in dance and a minor in English. As a student, Alex Worked wtih the choreographers Larry Keigwin, Camille Browne, Robert Battle, Sean Curran and Jennifer Muller. Upon graduation she danced with Regina Nejman and Company, partaking in the piece Architecture Runway which was commisioned for the through way between 41st and 42nd Street in NYC, which was also performed at the Dixon Place and the White Wave Dance Festival in Brooklyn, NY. Alex was also an apprentice with the company Classical Contemporary Ballet Theatre in Brooklyn, NY where she toured the tri state area in  the Nutcracker,  as well as in the piece Metamorphasis.  In 2013 Alex Moved to Washington, D.C. to dance with Dakshina / Daniel Phoenix Singh Dance Company where she Performed at the Sideny Harman Hall, Dance Place, and at various public schools through the company's Outreach performances. While in D.C Alex also performed with Jane Franklin Dance, Company Danzante, and in RC Dance Discovery as a Wild Thing in a school show of Where the Wlild Things Are.  

Alex also Worked for CityDance in Washington D.C. for two summers, a non-profit ogranization  which brings free dance classes to underserved Areas around D.C., as well as at Adagio Ballet and Dance School in Arlington, Virginia were she mainly taught ballet and modern. She has also worked as a teaching assistant at the Ailey School.
