Stefania Skoryna

Chorégraphe, Enseignant.e

Since graduating from l'École de danse contemporaine de Montréal in 2015, Stefania Skoryna has performed with various companies including Mélanie Demers, PÉTRUS/Jérémie Niel, Parts +Labour_Danse, and 14 lieux/Martin Messier. Quickly, she transitioned into choreography.

Her fascination with the relationship between dance and other artistic disciplines has led her to collaborate with different mediums such as comedy, opera, theater, gymnastics, digital arts, dance film, and contemporary music. The creations resulting from these collaborations have been presented at Tangente, Dance Matters (Toronto), Centre PHI, and MUTEK. Through these experiences, she has discovered the vast possibilities of storytelling, characters, and the joy of transporting the audience into fictional worlds through movement.

Her involvement in the performing arts community plays a key role in her practice. Stefania has been teaching dance since 2010 and is a co-founder/general coordinator of Nous Sommes L’Été. She is also a co-coordinator of Écotone, a platform for research in the performing arts. Additionally, Stefania acts as an artistic mentor, supporting artists in their career development.
