The Renaissance was an important period for the development of dance, as the very first dance treatises appeared. This series of workshops will focus on Italian court dances from the Quattrocento and Cinquecento (bassa danza, balletto, etc.). We will also dance the ballroom repertoire used in France at the end of the 16th century according to the essential Orchesography of Thoinot Arbeau (branle, pavane, gaillarde, etc.).

These three workshops, each lasting 2 hours, are open to everyone, welcome also to musicians who play this repertoire (Praetorius, Attaingnant, Gervaise, Phalèse, etc.) and who want to know the dances.

Each of the workshops will cover different dances, so they can be followed independently.
