Call for Performers – Contemporary Dance (2SLGBTQ+ community)

We are seeking contemporary dance performers who identify as part of the 2SLGBTQ+ community for a group creation project to be presented in May 2027 in Montreal.

This work will explore the theme of chosen family through a collaborative process rooted in movement, connection, and presence.

Desired qualities:

• Artistic and personal maturity
• Autonomy
• Ability to work collaboratively
• Ability to quickly integrate a creative process
• Strong ease with guided improvisation
• Solid partnering/lift technique

Conditions:

• $32/hour for approximately 90 hours of work
• $250 per performance (4 performances total)

Commitment required:
Selected performers must be available for all rehearsal and performance dates listed below. Please do not apply if you are not available for the full schedule.

Work schedule:

• Week of August 30, 2026 — 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM
• Week of September 6, 2026 — 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM (technical residency)
• Week of April 5, 2027 — 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM
• Week of April 12, 2027 — 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM
• Week of April 25, 2027 — Venue entry + technical residency
  Availability required: 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM (exact schedule TBD)
• Week of May 2, 2027 — Technical residency, dress rehearsal, and performances
• Monday, May 3: availability 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM (TBD)
• Tuesday, May 4: availability 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM + dress rehearsal (TBD)
• Wednesday, May 5: performance
• Thursday, May 6: performance
• Friday, May 7: performance
• Saturday, May 8: performance

Audition date:
The audition will take place on Friday, June 5th at 1 p.m. Selected performers will receive an email with the venue address.
