About Alexandre Morin
Choreographer, dancer, visual artist, and contemporary dance teacher, Alexandre Morin is a graduate of the École de danse contemporaine de Montréal. In 2011, he received the Hnatyshyn Foundation Award for a promising young artist in contemporary dance in Canada. As a performer, he has danced for Compagnie Marie Chouinard, Sylvain Émard Danse, Système D/Dominique Porte, Sébastien Provencher, and Fleuve-Espace Danse. In 2016, with the support of the Canada Council for the Arts, he participated in the ATLAS – Mapping Future Talents program at the International ImPulsTanz Festival in Vienna. A fan of multidisciplinary explorations, Alexandre also danced in 2016 in an installation by visual artist Jimmy Robert at the Art Gallery of Ontario. In 2020, he co-founded Other Animals – Interdisciplinary Arts with sound artist Jonathan Goulet. Together, they presented Breach (2017, 2019), Passing Cloud (2018), and On the Brink (2020) in Tiohtià
/Montreal (Tangente, ZH Festival, Parcours Danse). He teaches the next generation of dancers at the École de danse contemporaine de Montréal and the École supérieure de ballet du Québec.
