Caroline Laurin-Beaucage’s choreographic work unfolds in two new and unprecedented gallery formats at Ateliers Belleville:

1. A performative installation where the public is free to move within the gallery space, on Thursday, April 11th from 3:30 pm to 6:30 pm.
2. A full-length version of 50 minutes adapted to the venue, on Friday, April 12th at 8:00 pm (doors open at 7:30 pm).

The Infinite Limits of the Skin

Using vivariums, transparent basins placed in the gallery space, a duo of performers bare themselves and reveal their intimacy, both what is kept to oneself and what we desire to share. The music, scenography, and their movements complement each other to unveil a microcosm in constant evolution. In both literal and figurative senses, the intention of this piece is to confine them, to strip them of their habitat, their habits, and conventional relationships, in a physical environment as unique as it is demanding. The two bodies rock and sway transparently in these basins that will quickly become their homes. What are the links that can be woven between oneself, the other, and the environment? Can our bodies be porous vectors, to the point of forgetting the boundary of flesh?
