Coup de pouce Montérégie Program (Fall 2026)
Thanks to a partnership between the RQD and Culture Montérégie, design a training program tailored to your specific needs and take it with the expert of your choice, right in your region, close to home.
- This stream of the Coup de pouce program is exclusively for dance professionals based in the Montérégie region.
- Application period: August 27 to September 13, 2026.
- Your training project must begin no earlier than early October 2026 and end no later than November 15, 2026.
- Applications are processed on a first-come, first-served basis, while funds remain available.

Who can submit a Coup de pouce Montérégie project?
- The program is exclusively for dance professionals (artists, cultural workers, managers, designers, etc.), whether they are employed full- or part-time, self-employed, receiving Employment Insurance benefits or receiving social assistance.
- Student eligibility is assessed on a case-by-case basis.
- Temporary foreign workers in the cultural sector are eligible provided they hold a valid work permit at the time of their Coup de pouce training.
- The Coup de pouce Montérégie program is exclusively for applicants based in the Montérégie region, as it is funded through an envelope specifically dedicated to training projects in the region.
- You do not need to be a member of the RQD or Culture Montérégie to receive Coup de pouce funding.
- Professionals from artistic disciplines other than dance are not eligible for the Coup de pouce Montérégie program.
Important: all candidates participating in the same Coup de pouce project must meet these criteria.
- Customized individual training.
- Customized training for a small group of participants with a similar need.
Your training project must lead to an improvement in your skills, employability or employment conditions in any field of skills, such as:
- Artistic, discipline-based or related artistic skills.
- Career, cultural organization and human resources management.
- Overall knowledge of the cultural community, of law, and of the globalization of artistic activities.
- Advertising, communications, development and marketing.
- Audience development and cultural mediation.
- New technologies.
- Projects from dance professionals working outside the Montérégie region.
- Training programs, classes, or workshops already eligible for the RQD’s Dance Training Support Program.
- Hiring of a consultant mandated to carry out the project or of a collaborator required for the project.
- Learning or rehearsing a show.
- Participation in an information session, a conference, a colloquium, a convention, a seminar, a symposium, a lunch-and-talk or any other event of this type.
- Learning a second language or participating in a francization project.
- Training or internship offered outside Quebec.
- Maintenance and development of skills or qualifications required by law or regulation (example: health and safety at work).
- Self-taught training or without a formal framework.

How do I submit a Coup de pouce Montérégie project?
- Define your training needs, identify the skills you want to develop, and set your learning objectives.
- Contact the instructor of your choice; make a note of their full contact information, hourly rate, and whether they are registered for tax purposes.
- Discuss your training plan with them in detail.
- Fill out the registration form with the help of your trainer.
The maximum duration of a Coup de pouce Montérégie project is set at 12 hours.
The RQD’s Director of Professional Development and the Continuing Education and Professional Development Coordinator normally assess your project within two weeks of the application deadline. They make sure that it is eligible, relevant and realistic, that it qualifies as a training activity, and that it has the potential to improve your employment situation. They also verify your eligibility for the program and your trainer’s expertise. If needed, they can help you further define your project or recommend a trainer.
Participant’s financial contribution
- 15% of the total project cost, including 10% management fees.
After your Coup de pouce training, Culture Montérégie will send you an evaluation form that we strongly encourage you to complete and return by the specified deadline. Your feedback provides valuable information that is essential to maintaining the quality of our training programs.
