Workshops – #1 Wikidata: The basics
Wikidata is a powerful tool that you can use to heighten your Web visibility and that of dance. This tool lets you optimize your cultural content for search engines using metadata. But what are the tangible advantages of using this tool in the dance sector? Thanks to this platform, you can increase the effectiveness, relevance and visibility of your dance-related search content for the greater public.
The Regroupement québécois de la danse, the Canadian Association for the Performing Arts, LaCogency, and the Conseil québécois du théâtre invite you to a series of four workshops explaining the basic elements of this platform. The workshops are free of charge.
Target clients:
Artists, cultural workers or managers in dance, getting their first introduction to Wikidata and metadata.
Description of Workshop #1:
This first introductory workshop is intended for a beginner audience. The objective of this workshop is to help you discover Wikidata: its principles, its features, how to create a user account, how to create a new item, how to add statements. The workshop will involve both demonstrations as well as guided practice in breakout sessions.
The workshop series focuses primarily on the performing arts domain, but most workshop contents are transferable to other domains. All artists, cultural workers and arts enthusiasts are welcome. Registration is required.
