Il a fallu la persévérance de Lin Lee-Chen pour que son île se retrouve sur la carte chorégraphique mondiale. La signature du Legend Lin Dance Theatre fait se mêler influences tirées de rituels religieux, rites taïwanais et vision plus méditative. Dans ces « cérémonies » de danse, l’homme communie avec la nature et le paradis au rythme des saisons. The Eternal Tides est un voyage à travers les vies, les peines et les joies. À chacun d’y trouver son chemin. Dans la continuité d’une pièce comme Song of Pensive Beholding, la chorégraphie se veut au plus près de l’environnement. Cette danse où tout est harmonie, servie par de grands ensembles composés de remarquables interprètes, touche chacun au plus intime. Miracle d’un langage universel et pourtant si codifié ? Sans doute. Legend Lin, avec cette offrande à la nature, fait de la scène un horizon sans limites.

Lin Lee-Chen’s perseverance was instrumental in putting her native island on the international dance map. Legend Lin’s practice blends elements of religious rituals, traditional Taiwanese rites, and a more meditative vision. In these choreographic “ceremonies”, humans commune with nature and heaven in time with the seasons. The Eternal Tides is a journey through lives with their joys and sorrows, a voyage where each of us has to find our own way. Like the earlier Song of Pensive Beholding, the piece carries a strong environmental theme. Balanced and harmonious, performed by large ensembles of remarkable dancers, the work is intimate and moving. The miracle of a language that is both universal and highly codified? No doubt. With this offering to nature, Legend Lin turns the stage into a limitless horizon.
