Le penchant des pierres – The Sway of Stone

Situé en plein air avec une scénographie de pierres et de verre, Le penchant des pierres est une exploration intime et ludique de la nature précaire et transitoire de nos relations les un aux autres ainsi qu’avec notre environnement. Le langage chorégraphique évocateur imite les reflets méditatifs du verre et la qualité cinétique du balancement des galets de mer. Les co-chorégraphes et interprètes Lucy Fandel et Nickle Peace-Williams vous invitent à vous égarer dans ce paysage et d’y découvrir la liminalité de notre présence collective.

Depuis début septembre, nous travaillons dehors presque tous les jours à la création de cette chorégraphie et installation sculpturale dans un terrain vague près du fleuve, à la Friche au pied du courant. Le souci de la santé publique nous a amenés à repenser le projet (étant au départ une série de représentations pour un petit public) à travers cette itération filmée.

Situated outdoors with a scenography of stones and glass, The Sway of Stone is an intimate and playful exploration of the precarious and transitional nature of our relationships to one another and our surroundings. The evocative choreographic language emulates the meditative reflections of glass and the kinetic quality of tumbling sea stones. Co-choreographers and performers Lucy Fandel and Nickle Peace-Williams invite you to wander and discover the liminality of this transient landscape and our collective presence within it.

Since early September, we have been working outside nearly everyday to create a choreography and sculptural installation in a vacant lot near the Saint Lawrence, at La friche au pied du courant. The public health situation led us to pivot from a series of small-group live performances, to reconsider the project in this thoughtfully filmed iteration.
