Annual General Meeting Notice

by Rymel Laroui

Dear Community,

This is your official invitation to the Annual General Meeting (AGM) followed by the Annual Gathering (RDVA) of the Regroupement québécois de la danse. On Tuesday, October 27, 2026, we look forward to seeing you starting at 9:00 a.m. at Cabaret Lion d’Or (for Montreal members) and at Maison pour la danse (for those in and around Quebec City). Coffee, croissants, and lunch will be provided at both locations. To encourage participation from across Quebec and beyond, joining via videoconference will also be possible. Yes, this year we’re pulling out all the stops! 😉—much to the delight of our members living or working far from the major cities!

Please note that members in good standing are eligible for travel expense reimbursement under certain conditions. A section of the registration form addresses this topic.

Following the General Meeting, it will be time for the Annual Gathering: Daisy Boustany, who presented the 2025–2030 Professional Dance Roadmap to us last January, will host the presentation of the report stemming from the three working groups. We will continue exploring this tool with you, and your participation in the various workshops will feed into the work accomplished by your peers.

In addition, please stay with us in large numbers for the unveiling of the honorary member(s) starting at 4:30 p.m.!

You have until October 22, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. to:

  • Renew or update your membership to secure your voting rights at the meeting;

  • Register to enjoy the complimentary lunch provided at the AGM. After this date, lunch will not be provided;

  • Request simultaneous translation or other accessibility measures.

  • Translation to English : Live translation is offered upon request. Please mention it in the registration form.
  • Eco-Responsability : “Zero Waste” Goal ! RQD aims to minimize its carbon footprint throughout the day. We encourage you to use a green transportation (bike, bus, metro, train, carpooling) to get to the event, and to bring your reusable water. Eco-responsible measures are also being implemented both beforehand and on site to reduce residual waste as much as possible. If you’ve requested a meal upon registration, please be present to avoid waste !

PREREQUISITES

Is your RQD membership in good standing ?
To be able to exercise your right to vote during the AGM, you must have renewed your membership beforehand.
Join or renew your membership by 3 PM on October 22. After this deadline, the RQD team cannot guarantee that your request will be processed in time.

  • Individual Professional Membership
  • Organizational Membership

JOIN THE RQD’S BOARD OF DIRECTORS!

As announced in our newsletter on October 3, four (4) director seats on the RQD Board of Directors are up for election:

  • two (2) in the college of individual members;
  • two (2) in the college of organizational members.
The composition of the Board of Directors must reflect the diversity of our practices, generations, regions, and ethnocultural realities, to ensure an RQD in which everyone can feel represented, complementing those who will be continuing their mandate for another year. A strong RQD is one that is representative as a whole.
