Alanna Kraaijeveld

Biographie

Alanna Kraaijeveld is a dance artist and emerging choreographer.  Working in Toronto and Montreal, she has choreographed and presented work through the Chimera Project’s emerging choreographer showcase Fresh Blood 2009, Dancemakers' researchLab, Le Groupe Dance Lab’s In-House, and as part of Movement Arts Ottawa’s Stepping Stones series.  In the summer of 2010, Alanna was an emerging choreographer as part of Springboard Danse Montreal, and continued her work begun there through the MAD AIR residency program at the Stella Adler Studio of Acting in New York City.

Alanna is currently working with Louise Bédard Danse (Série Solos), Susanna Hood / hum (Song/Dance), and is collaborating with Marie Claire Forté on Moving Towards, a series of dance videos. 

She has participated in projects with Susanna Hood / hum (Shudder), Sarah Bild (Kiefer Trio), Sylvain Émard Danse (Wave), Louise Bédard Danse (Enfin Vous Zestes), as a guest dance artist at Dancemakers (Double Bill #2, Project 3/2/1, researchLab 2009, Loveloathing), Ame Henderson, and was a company member of Le Groupe Dance Lab in Ottawa under the artistic direction of Peter Boneham for four seasons.  There she participated in the research and development of new dance works by national, international, seasoned and emerging artists.

As a former scholarship student of York University’s Film and Video Production Program, Alanna maintains her interest in multidisciplinary work.  She has helped develop and has participated in video projects for Canadian dance artists Michael Trent, Elizabeth Langley, Paul-André Fortier and Marie Claire Forté.  She was a scholarship student and is a graduate of the School of Toronto Dance Theatre’s Professional Training Program.
