Rachelle Bourget is a contemporary dance artist from Winnipeg, Manitoba, now based in Montreal. A 2012 graduate of The School of Contemporary Dancers, she has performed with Winnipeg’s Contemporary Dancers, ENTITEY/jason martin (Montreal), @tendance/C.Medina (Vienna), The Plug In Institute of Contemporary Art (STAGES series, Winnipeg), and in works by Ming Hon (Winnipeg) and Riley Sims (Toronto). She has choreographed and performed in music videos for Winnipeg based bands Poemss (The Animal), Joanne Pollock (Carnival), The Treble (10,000 Floors), Viva Non (Tonally Outside) and collaborated with Vancouver based film-maker Sarah Blondin for short film Wise.Wild.Wonderous. In addition, she was a founding member of Nova Dance Collective, a Winnipeg based contemporary dance collective, between 2011 and 2016. This time inspired her interest in choreography, resulting in the creation of several short works. In July 2017, she premiered her solo work AFTER THE CAUSE, and with financial support from the Manitoba Arts Council, the piece was further developed into a full length work and presented at the Rachel Browne Theatre in January 2019.
