Amandine Garrido

Chorégraphe

Amandine Garrido graduated in dance from the University of Chile in 2002 and has worked for several contemporary companies in her country. In 2008, she came to Canada thanks to Cirque du Soleil's show Varekai, where she practiced aerial art. In the spring of 2013, she joined the dance team of the dance company Sursaut. A versatile performer and choreographer, she inspires us with her stage presence, versatility and fluidity of movement. Her inspirations, a mix of contemporary influences and a base of classical technique, allow her to bring to life the way she embodies her art: as an enchanting expression of flexibility and agility. She has participated in numerous creative projects, such as Sève, Earth my body, as part of the Rurart project – Contemporary Art in Rural Areas, La géométrie des chats : le regard animal, presented as part of Viva! Art Action in Montreal, as well as for the show Flow, produced by the dance company Axile. She made her first collaboration as a choreographer and performer for the show Acuña with the company Sursaut in 2017. She is currently part of the dance company and ZemmourBallet as a performer and artist-in-residence for the year 2022 and has just completed her second video-dance entitled Growing Up, thanks to the support of the Conseil des arts et lettres du Québec, Zemmourballet and the CASJB.
