Rafaëla-Salomé Tremblay-van Zuiden

Rafa is a contemporary dance performer and choreographer, who identifies as queer and neurodivergent. Rafa studied at the Verdun Circus School, specializing in juggling and aerial acrobatics. Subsequently, Rafa pursued studies in biology at the University of Montreal and Cape Breton University, before diving head first in the contemporary dance program at Concordia. After teaching and performing in circus arts, Rafa immersed themselves in dance. They incorporate ritualistic work alongside creating In situ choreographies and using costume design as a starting point. Rafa is co-choreographer and costume designer for the performance art duo, Glamour Magique.
