Maude Laurin-Beaulieu

Maude (They/She) is a Montreal dance performer involved in the street dance community, as well as in the contemporary and acrobatic dance. Since the end of her studies at l'école de danse contemporaine de montréal in 2020, she has works at the street dance organization 100lux, a space which also allows her to fully immerse herself in her practice of Whacking while exploring other street dance styles. They are part of the Whacking company “Asymmetry” directed by Axelle “Ebony” Munezero, and works with the company WAFD: interdisciplinary creations directed by Helen Simard and Rogers White. In 2022, Maude has the opportunity to present her co-creation “Playground” with Chanel Cheiban as part of the Danse Buissonnières at Tangente, as well as their co-creation “Queens” with Antoine “Flame” Findeli, as part of the Festival Artfulness. Recently, they had the chance to participate in the Fringe festival in Edinburgh as a performer in the play “Papillon” by Helen Simard. Maude also co-organizes“ SUPENATURE” an event for the queer community of Montreal. Through conscious and authentic movement, conscioussness and presence are at the heart of their work. They are  interested in the overlapping of their spiritual, physical and artistic practices through different environments.
