Seeking an Accounting Technician

Accounting Technician

Working closely with the Administrative Director, the Accounting Clerk is responsible for the organization’s accounting and a variety of administrative tasks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the organization’s accounting, including the full accounting cycle (accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, deposits, payments, etc.);
  • Process employee payroll and verify payroll for temporary technicians;
  • Prepare accounting reports (project reports, payroll summaries, bank reconciliations, etc.);
  • Communicate with clients regarding account follow-ups;
  • Prepare weekly payments to suppliers;
  • Prepare monthly GST/QST returns and government remittances;
  • Update group insurance deduction schedules on a monthly basis;
  • Prepare year-end T4, T4A, T4A-NR, and Relevé 1 tax slips;
  • Assist with year-end closing and the preparation of financial statements;
  • Serve as an accounting technician within the accounting services offered to Circuit-Est members;
  • Contribute to grant applications and reporting;
  • Assist with the preparation and updating of various projects;
  • Follow up on files assigned by the Administrative Director.

Qualifications and Experience

  • College diploma in Accounting or significant professional experience relevant to the position;
  • Minimum of one year of experience. Applicants without experience must demonstrate a strong interest in working in the dance sector;
  • Proficiency with Sage 50 (Simply Accounting) and Microsoft Excel;
  • Knowledge of Airtable (CRM) and Google Workspace is an asset;
  • Excellent written and spoken French;
  • Knowledge of the cultural sector and the dance community is an asset;
  • Strong attention to detail, autonomy, and excellent teamwork skills.

Working Conditions

  • Permanent position, 4 days per week (28 hours), including 4 hours dedicated to providing accounting services for Circuit-Est member companies;
  • Hybrid work arrangement with a flexible schedule;
  • Three weeks of summer vacation, plus two weeks during the holiday season;
  • Personal leave and menstrual leave;
  • Group insurance plan;
  • Culture and wellness allowance.

Salary: $32,890 to $35,820 (according to the organization’s salary policy)
Start date: As soon as possible
