Administrative and Financial Director
Contract position – 40 hours/month
About Us
Anne Plamondon Productions is a nonprofit dance company recognized for the excellence of its creations, its commitment to the development of contemporary dance, and its outreach to audiences locally and internationally. We are seeking a rigorous, collaborative, and passionate individual to fill the position of Administrative and Financial Director and contribute to the achievement of our artistic mission.
Position Summary
Reporting to the Executive Director, the Administrative and Financial Director is responsible for the company’s administrative, financial, and organizational management. The position actively contributes to strategic planning, ensures sound resource management, and supports the team in achieving artistic and organizational objectives.
Main Responsibilities
Financial Management
- Develop, monitor, and analyze annual and project budgets, financial forecasts, and cash flow projections;
- Prepare financial reports for the Executive Director and Board of Directors;
- Oversee accounting, accounts payable and receivable, artist fee payments, and bank reconciliations;
- Prepare budgets for grant applications, ensure compliance with funder requirements, and complete accountability reports;
- Coordinate annual audits with external auditors;
- Implement and maintain effective financial controls.
Administration
- Manage the organization’s administrative operations;
- Ensure follow-up of contracts, insurance policies, and legal obligations;
- Develop and improve administrative processes to optimize operations;
- Participate in organizational risk management.
Human Resources
- Support leadership in human resources management;
- Manage administrative files for collaborators, contracts, and artist payments;
- Ensure the application of organizational policies and compliance with labour standards.
Governance
- Prepare documentation for the Board of Directors and its committees;
- Participate in Board meetings when required;
- Contribute to strategic planning and organizational development.
Candidate Profile
- University degree in administration, accounting, finance, or a related field;
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in a similar position;
- Experience working in a nonprofit organization or the cultural sector (a significant asset);
- Excellent knowledge of budget management and accounting practices;
- Good understanding of public funding programs and accountability requirements;
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications;
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and planning skills;
- Collaborative leadership style, autonomy, discretion, and strong priority-management skills;
- Excellent spoken and written French skills; good knowledge of English is an asset.
