Seeking 2 Contemporary Dancers for Immersive Multimedia Performance
On August 28, in collaboration with MAPP_MTL, Ĕthos Cultura will present Chiaroscuro. Following a two-month creation and performance residency in Italy and Poland, Chiaroscuro returns home for its Montréal premiere.
Chiaroscuro is an immersive multimedia performance that blends video projection, animation, augmented reality, contemporary dance, narrative performance, and audience interaction to explore the duality of light and shadow that shapes our lives. Funded by the Canada Council for the Arts, this one-of-a-kind piece invites audiences on a journey into the shadow self, emerging with a deeper understanding of darkness and the balance it can bring.
We are seeking two contemporary dancers to join the project in preparation for this performance. The movement vocabulary is relatively straightforward, and the dancers play an important role in grounding the digitally enhanced experience with a strong physical presence.
While a choreographic framework already exists, we are looking for collaborative performers who are interested in contributing creatively and helping refine the movement where appropriate. The work is not highly technical, and we are happy to adapt choreography to suit each dancer’s strengths and abilities.
