Notice of Extraordinary General Meeting

by Regroupement québécois de la danse

Admit it — You Love Bylaw Revisions!

August 28, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
Online

Alright, alright, this might not be the most thrilling exercise of the decade, but it remains essential for the democratic vitality of our association. Beyond ensuring compliance with the law, clear bylaws guarantee transparency and help maintain order and trust—both among members and with our partners and funders. They also help prevent procedural missteps that could compromise the proper management of the organization.

For several months, a governance subcommittee, skillfully led by Ms. Louise Harel, worked on updating the bylaws. The objectives included integrating inclusive language and removing as many barriers to inclusion as possible (the Membership Policy has also been aligned with the new texts), providing better guidance for the electoral process and the appointment of the chair or co-chairs, which now falls under the board of directors, and clarifying the powers of the general assembly, among other things.

So, even if you’re not in the habit of waking up at night to compare statutes and bylaws, this meeting is for you! Come make your voice heard! ☺ We look forward to seeing you online.☺

A quorum of 40 eligible members must be reached for the bylaws adopted by the board to be ratified. This quorum must include both individual professional members and corporate members.
