Economic survey on the dance sector in Quebec

30 minutes of your time to strengthen advocacy!

As a reminder, a first economic study of the dance sector was conducted in 2023. Last winter, the board of directors granted a new mandate to the independent firm AppEco to carry out five updates to this study over the next ten years. The first of these five iterations is currently underway.

This initiative aims to provide an accurate and evolving picture of the economic reality of the dance sector in Quebec. It is essential to strengthening collective advocacy for improved funding, working conditions, and living standards.

A new government in Ottawa, working groups at the Ministry of Culture, upcoming municipal elections and provincial elections next year—the political context requires us to provide reliable data to support our advocacy efforts.

Before you begin, we invite you to gather your main financial data, based on your profile:

– For organizations: revenues, operating costs, payroll, investments, etc. for the years 2022–2023 and 2023–2024.
– For professionals: income, expenses, hours worked, etc. for the same years.

All responses will be treated with strict confidentiality. Only aggregated results will be shared with the RQD – no individual respondent will be identifiable.

The survey takes approximately 30 minutes to complete.
