Pauline Gervais
Chorégraphe, Enseignant.e, Interprète
Pauline Gervais is a dance artist (choreographer, performer, and contemporary dance teacher) based in Montreal. A graduate of the École supérieure de ballet du Québec, she has worked with Lina Cruz, Johanne Madore, Ballet Ouest de Montréal, Johanne Gourd, and visual artist Herman Kolgen. Her movement approach—fluid, articulated, and visceral—explores the creation of sensitive and transformative worlds.
With her company Pauline Berndsen Danse, founded in 2018, she has presented over eight works in Canada and internationally (Poland, United Kingdom, Brazil, Spain, Italy, New York, Ontario, and Corsica). In 2025, she toured the United Kingdom, presenting her work in Brighton (DanceEast UK), Ipswich (South East Dance UK), and London (The Place), followed by a second tour in Brazil, where she performed a solo from her repertoire and a Quebec-Brazil co-creation in six cities as part of the Dança em Trânsito festival. That same year, she received a choreographic commission from the Wroclaw Opera Ballet (Poland) to create "Murmuration", a piece for eight performers accompanied by a live orchestra, original music, and costumes.
Most recently, in March 2026, she presented her new solo creation, INSECTA, at the Dansa Metropolitana festival in Barcelona and at BAnQ in Montreal, where she also shared her expertise by leading a post-show dance workshop.
Her company also develops multidisciplinary projects, combining contemporary dance, short films (HERBERT, Merging Bodies & Temps Sauvages), and collaborations with artists from other disciplines, notably designers Guillaum Chaigne and FORESTARO GENESIS.
Actively involved in the development of the choreographic community, Pauline Gervais also serves as a curator and member of the artistic committee of the Festival Quartiers Danses (FQD). In this role, she contributes to the selection and promotion of artists and represents the festival internationally, including a professional trip to Iceland for the Reykjavík Dance Festival in November 2024.
