Marika Landry

Marika Landry has been a professional Argentine tango dancer since 2000. She has performed and taught at some of the most prestigious tango festivals across Canada, the United States, Mexico, Europe, and Asia, establishing an international reputation within the tango community. Based in Montreal, she has developed her own teaching methodology and is dedicated to training the next generation of dancers with passion and commitment. She is also a member of the teaching staff at Studio Tango Montréal and actively participates in the organization of the Bailongo Argentine Tango Festival in Montreal.

As a choreographer, artistic director, and founder of Tango Émotion, Marika has created two major productions that combine dance, theater, and visual arts. The first, Milonga de mi Barrio, was presented in Montreal in June 2009, followed by Chispa, Ni Olvido, Ni Perdón, also presented in Montreal in June 2015. These original works left a lasting impression on audiences and contributed significantly to the contemporary tango scene.

Marika has also worked as a choreographer on a short film by director and illustrator Véronique Paquette, produced by the National Film Board of Canada, adding a cinematic dimension to her artistic career.

She has served as a judge at international tango competitions, including the Campionato Metropolitano de Milano in Italy in 2016 and the Festival Tango Chilango in Mexico in 2017, reflecting her expertise and worldwide recognition within the international tango community.
