Rozenn Lecomte

Rozenn Lecomte is a choreographer and performer whose work explores the emergence of an anti-conformist sociology and the rebellion of living bodies. A graduate of the Université du Québec à Montréal in choreography, she is the recipient of the William-Douglas and David-Kilburn scholarships, which recognize her outstanding commitment to the discipline during and after her studies.

Shortly after graduating, Rozenn Lecomte presented her stage piece Le recueillement des tendres, which received a CALQ grant for its creation, as well as La politique des regrets (2024), a self-produced piece staged in an apartment with eight performers. She also showcased her first solo, No man's land, at So You Think That Was Dance? (Karen Fennell) and at Espaces incarnés at the Phi Centre (eXplo). this is not moving, a co-creation with Ariane Levasseur, was presented at Tangente in 2023 as part of a shared evening for emerging artists. Rozenn Lecomte’s work has benefited from creative residencies at Les Grands Ballets Canadiens, the Centre de création O Vertigo – CCOV, Montréal’s Maisons de la culture, La Charpente des Fauves, and Circuit-Est from 2022 to 2024. She was also the recipient of the 2024 Circuit-Est/fabrik Potsdam cross-residency program.

Since 2021, Rozenn Lecomte has been organizing and participating in several underground events as a choreographer, performer, teacher and artistic director (Art souterrain, Lez Spread The Word, UQAM Dance Department, À part X SPEAK UP, and more). She also hosts the podcast Fil conducteur, where she engages in conversations with contemporary dance artists from Montreal, addressing key issues within the ecosystem of this vibrant artistic community.
