Gabrielle Desgagnés is a Montreal and Quebec city-based dancer and trainer who graduated from L’École de Danse Contemporaine de Montréal in 2008. Since then, Gabrielle has been performed in different projects and companies including OSEZ! 2009 in Quebec City, Lara Kramer Danse and her work, Fragments, and for Thierry Huard multiple times including a solo, La Maîtrise. Gabrielle also took part in the making of Arcade Fire’s videoclip, Sprawl 2, choreographed by Dana Gingras and performs for different events at the Musée d’art contemporain de Montréal. She was an apprentice for the remount of monumental from The Holy Body Tattoo defunct company and performed a piece by Pierre-Marc Ouellette and Manon De Pauw, Cocons somatiques, at l’Agora de la danse. Recently, we saw her perform in the music video Erreur sur la personne by songwriter Martin Lizotte, as well as for the Carnaval de Québec under the direction of Harold Rhéaume. In 2023, you will see Gabrielle dancing in the film La timidité des cimes of the company Le Fils d'Adrien danse as well as taking part in its new creation. She will also soon appear in the short film Recipe for tragedy by Compagnie Virginie Brunelle.
Gabrielle continues to evolve her physical skills through studying with different teachers and taking workshops in Canada and across the world. She also trained in acrobatics, and still trains in GYROTONIC® and GYROKINESIS® methods since 2011 which she is also teaching as a certified trainer. When she isn’t moving in the studio or on stage, Gabrielle is the assistant director of Confluence – Créateur de vocations.
