Charles Cardin-Bourbeau

Charles was born and raised in Whitehorse, Yukon, and completed his professional training in contemporary dance at The School of Dance in Ottawa in 2013.
Upon graduating, he joined Compagnie ODD, where he worked with Yvonne Coutts, Tedd Robinson, Noam Gagnon and Andrew Turner, as well as with Toronto-based choreographers Darryl Tracy and Riley Sims.
From 2014 to 2016, he danced with O Vertigo Danse under the direction of Ginette Laurin in Soif, KHAOS and les petites formes, performing across Canada and Europe. He then joined Compagnie Marie Chouinard from 2016 to 2018, taking part in international tours across Asia, Europe, North and South America of eight landmark works from the company’s repertoire, including Le Sacre du printemps and bODY_rEMIX/lES_vARIATIONS_gOLDBERG.
Since then, he has collaborated with Entitey/Jason Martin, Van Grimde/Corps secrets, Dorsale Danse, Louise Bédard Danse and Théâtre à l’eau Froide. He currently works with Sylvain Émard Danse.
As a choreographer, he has created A Garden (for my beloved) (2014), Little Studies for Homo sapiens (2016), A Forest (for all the lost souls) (2016–2020), Un enclos (pour l’impératrice) (2023), the theatre production Cygnes noirs (2024) and Petites Tempêtes (2025). His works have been presented in Montreal, Ottawa, Granby and Portugal.
He also teaches contemporary dance technique and Sylvain Émard Danse repertoire at The School of Dance, École de danse contemporaine de Montréal, École de danse de Québec and École supérieure de ballet du Québec.
