About Voies culturelles des faubourgs
Voies culturelles des faubourgs brings together over 50 cultural, institutional, commercial members and artists active in the Centre-Sud borough of Montreal (from the Canadian Pacific railway to Sanguinet Street, and from Sherbrooke Street to the river).
For nearly 25 years, our roundtable has promoted a shared vision for cultural development in the neighborhood. We serve as a place for reflection, awareness, coordination, and advocacy, influencing decision-makers to support local cultural projects.
Since 2023, Voies culturelles des faubourgs has also been a co-leader of the Quartier culturel des Faubourgs project, an ambitious initiative enhancing the cultural profile of the area.
MANDATE
We are looking for a creative, organized, and proactive individual with strong skills in strategy, administrative, and financial management. The chosen person will play a central role in implementing the new 2025–2030 strategic plan and developing the Quartier culturel des faubourgs.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Under the authority of the Board of Directors, the Executive Director will be responsible for (non-exhaustive list):
- Implementing the organization’s strategic plan and developing annual action plans approved by the Board;
- Ensuring objectives are met, producing an annual report of activities, and recommending strategic adjustments as needed;
- Recruiting, supervising, mobilizing, and supporting human resources (team, collaborators, volunteers);
- Implementing and coordinating the Festival des Faubourgs in collaboration with partner presenters;
- Representing the organization to government bodies, partners, and decision-makers to affirm the critical role of culture in local development;
- Strengthening the organization’s financial structure by diversifying revenue sources;
- Managing all financial and material resources, including budget planning, financial tracking, and accounting supervision;
- Initiating projects to strengthen collaboration and coordination with partners and sector actors;
- Managing general operations, activities, and projects;
- Maintaining relationships with existing members, providing guidance, and participating in new member recruitment.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALITIES
- University degree in administration, cultural organization management, or a related field preferred;
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in administrative and financial management;
- Proficiency in Mac environment and Microsoft Office suite;
- Excellent communication and public relations skills;
- Analytical thinking, synthesis, sound judgment, autonomy, and dynamism;
- Strong sense of responsibility and priority-setting;
- Excellent command of French, both spoken and written;
- Knowledge of Sage 50 (an asset);
- Knowledge of the cultural or community sector (an asset);
- Familiarity with the Faubourgs neighborhood in Montreal (an asset).
EMPLOYMENT CONDITIONS
- Start date: January 2026
- Permanent full-time position, 35 hours per week
- Annual salary: $50,000–$60,000 depending on experience
- Competitive benefits including:

- Holiday break in addition to annual vacation
- Hybrid work (on-site/remote, including two consecutive weeks of remote work)
- Schedule: occasional evenings or weekends may be required
