Théâtre Desjardins – Operations Coordinator

ORGANIZATION OVERVIEW
Théâtre Desjardins is a non-profit organization and performing arts presenter. Each year, it presents nearly 200 performances in music, dance, storytelling, theatre, comedy, circus, and youth programming, in addition to hosting various private events.

POSITION SUMMARY
Reporting to the Director of Operations, the Operations Coordinator contributes to creating an exceptional experience for both audience members and artists. This role manages purchases, inventories, and the setup of dressing rooms and bar areas. The Coordinator is also responsible for employee scheduling and timesheets for front-of-house staff, while participating in the full cycle of venue rentals at the Cégep. This position is part of a dynamic, caring, and engaged team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepare front-of-house and backstage areas to ensure an exceptional experience for touring teams and venue renters.
  • Support the team in delivering excellent customer service at the bar, auditorium, and reception areas.
  • Handle purchases related to artist dressing room preparation.
  • Handle purchases related to bar operations, receive shipments, and organize stock.
  • Ensure proper functioning and maintenance of bar and dressing room equipment.
  • Update event reception information and communicate it to relevant teams.
  • Collaborate on updating operational and front-of-house procedure documents.
  • Maintain inventory and manage storage spaces.
  • Provide occasional event support as needed.
  • Assist with venue rental management.
  • Perform other related tasks as required.

EXPERIENCE AND PROFILE

  • College diploma
  • 2–3 years of relevant work experience
  • Experience in the cultural sector is an asset

  • Strong sense of responsibility, initiative, and autonomy
  • Attention to detail and discretion
  • Teamwork skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work under pressure
  • Excellent customer service
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Full-time permanent position, 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday
