Job Offer – Communications and Fundraising
Founded in Sherbrooke – Kchi Nikitawtegwak – in 1985, the dance company Sursaut is dedicated to the creation, production, and presentation of choreographic works aimed at youth and families. Presented from coast to coast in Canada and abroad, the company’s shows honor the intelligence, rigor, and great openness of children.

The main projects for Fall 2025 are the launch of the new creation Printemps marmelade as well as the celebration of the company’s 40th anniversary.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Under the supervision of the Artistic and General Director as well as the Administrative Director, the incumbent will work closely with team members and have the following responsibilities:
Communications:
- In collaboration with the communications and outreach team members:
- Implement the company’s overall communication plan and specific communication plans for each artistic project;
- Update the company’s website;
- Ensure an active presence of the company on social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, YouTube);
- Write various documents (press releases, brochures, programs, letters, etc.);
Fundraising:
- In collaboration with the Administrative Director:
- Develop and implement a communication strategy specific to the philanthropic development project;
- Identify and solicit foundations, businesses, and various donor organizations aligned with our mission;
- Write and design fundraising materials;
- Collaborate in the writing of grant applications and required reports;
- Participate in organizing special company events (press conferences, benefit events, etc.);
- Perform administrative tasks related to the position: collecting information, sending documentation, coordinating meetings, etc.
PROFILE SOUGHT
- Degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience;
- Excellent mastery of French (spoken and written) and knowledge of English;
- Graphic skills and knowledge of InDesign (Adobe) and Canva;
- Ease working in a team;
- Initiative, creativity, interpersonal skills, and autonomy;
- Strong sense of organization and commitment.
ASSETS:
- Proficiency with Macintosh environment and excellent computer skills;
- Knowledge of the cultural sector;
- Knowledge of the dance field;
- Knowledge of Airtable.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
- Part-time position, 2 to 3 days per week depending on company activities;
- Salary based on experience and company salary policy;
- Flexible work schedule, work/family balance, personal leave, family benefits related to company activities;
- On-site work at the Jean-Besré Performing Arts Centre in Sherbrooke;
- Start date: early September;
