Communications and Front Desk Assistant

LA SERRE – arts vivants is looking for the ideal candidate to fill the temporary position of Communications and Front Desk Assistant for OFFTA 2026, taking place at the end of May 2026.

Job Details and Benefits

Hourly wage: $19–$21 per hour, depending on experience
Schedule: 28–35 hours/week. May require working atypical hours, evenings, and weekends during activities and events. Intensive presence is required during the OFFTA festival.

Job Description
Reporting to the Communications Manager, the Communications and Front Desk Assistant contributes to efforts to ensure the visibility of the OFFTA festival. They implement digital campaign strategies and promote the organization’s identity online by creating original and relevant content. The person coordinates the volunteer team and ensures the welcoming of artists and partners.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Develop digital campaign strategies in collaboration with the Communications Manager, aligned with the organization’s communication plan;
- Develop the editorial calendar for social media;
- Create, manage, and distribute digital content;
- Adapt content from various initiatives and supported artistic projects for digital dissemination;
- Manage LA SERRE and OFFTA social media channels (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn) and online communication with our communities;
- Monitor social media and share content to strengthen partnerships and promote the organization and supported artists;
- Plan and monitor sponsored campaigns on Facebook and Instagram;
- Integrate content on various digital platforms, including websites, ticketing platforms, and Vimeo;
- Assist the Communications Manager in producing and distributing communication campaigns, promotional tools, and calls for the organization and festival;
- Design, format, and schedule newsletters for LA SERRE and OFFTA, maintaining mailing lists;
- Collaborate with translators, graphic designers, webmasters, printers, photographers, videographers, etc., to design and deploy promotional and advertising campaigns;
- Attend meetings with OFFTA artistic teams;
- Contribute to event logistics, such as launch events, program announcements, and premieres;
- During the OFFTA festival, provide on-site support to meet various needs;
- Ensure effective communication between partners and artists.
Skills and Qualifications
- Strong interest in and knowledge of the performing arts ecosystem (theatre, dance, performance, circus);
- Relevant professional experience;
- Excellent writing skills;
- Strong knowledge of social media;
- Proficiency in graphic design software (InDesign, Photoshop) an asset;
- Knowledge of Mailchimp, Cyberimpact, or similar newsletter platforms, an asset;
- Knowledge of WordPress or similar website management platforms, an asset;
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and knowledge of Google Workspace, an asset;
- Personal qualities: kindness and energy, interpersonal skills, organizational and prioritization skills, attention to detail and aesthetics, initiative, and ease in teamwork.
