Call for Applications: Paul-Dumoulin Grant

Artist Lynda Gaudreau is pleased to partner with Danse-Cité to launch a new grant for independent arts producers: the Paul-Dumoulin Grant.

Paul was Lynda’s life partner. He worked as a producer, administrator, and creative contributor on several of her projects. This grant was conceived and funded by Lynda in his memory, with additional financial support from Pierre Tanguay, a long-time collaborator and friend.

The grant is intended for individuals who dedicate themselves, in whole or in part, to producing artistic projects independently, valuing experimentation and boldness in their own practice as producers.

It is aimed at those who may face financial challenges and seeks to help them meet their basic needs. This is a living grant, with no conditions or reporting requirements attached.

The grant is open to all independent arts producers residing in Quebec, regardless of background, experience, or the nature of the artistic projects they support.

For this inaugural edition, a grant of $3,499.97 CAD will be awarded.

A letter from Lynda is included to provide further context and insight for interested applicants.

How to Apply

• Submit a letter (maximum 2 pages) in French or English.
• Tell us about your practice as a producer and one project currently in development that you plan to present in the coming months. You may also include a CV if you wish. You do not need to provide details about your financial situation.

• Deadline: December 5, 2025

Selection Process

• Lynda and Pierre will convene a selection committee representing diverse perspectives on arts production in Quebec to review the letters and choose the recipient.
• The committee will discuss the applications based on their experience and understanding, prioritizing boldness and experimentation in the applicant’s approach, while maintaining confidentiality.
• Letters will be destroyed once the recipient is announced.
