Call for Applications: Choreographic Workshops 2025
Montréal Danse is seeking four choreographers to participate in the 22nd edition of the Choreographic Workshops, which will take place from December 8 to 12, 2025. Choreographers will take part in an intensive week of research, discussion, and choreographic work. The choreographers will be paired with two dancers and accompanied by two experts in the creative process, dramaturg Kathy Casey and choreographer Thea Patterson. Daily lectures are offered to participants and the public.
The Choreographic Workshops aim to create a community and a supportive space free from production pressure. Choreographers must be prepared to question their artistic approach and choreographic reflections with openness, curiosity, and rigor.
Profiles Seeked
- Diversity of experience and practice
- Minimum of two pieces already choreographed and presented
- Ability and willingness to question one’s choreographic work
- Residence in Quebec
- The cost of participating in the workshop is $400 + tax.
What is provided
- 5 meals (evening)
- Artistic support before and during the workshop
- 2 performers for research
- 20 hours of studio time
- Videos of daily presentations
Schedule of a day of choreographic workshop
- Individual meetings between choreographers and mentors
- Lecture and discussion

- Studio rehearsal (4 hours)
- Informal presentations in front of the other work teams
- Dinner/discussion with mentors and choreographers
