Fighting Monkey Practice with Alanna Kraaijeveld

Focus: FM body / body

Monday May 13 – Friday May 17, 2024

10am to 12pm daily

Espace 215

215 Jean Talon West, 3rd floor

This workshop is open to professional artists, pre-professionals and curious movers and shakers. Everyone is welcome.

Corps / Corps is an aspect of FM that explores the tolerance of joints to stress, and the flexibility of our ways of acting in relation to a partner. It consists of a dance-based task or connection point (e.g. intertwined fingers, hand to foot, etc.), performed in contact with other participants.

In addition, we will explore the quality of our movement and listening through encounters with

– Joint movements

– Coordination

– Improvisation

– Movement scenarios (with practice ball or martial arts belt)

The aim is to increase our physical capacity, nourish our elasticity, let go of tension, move and explore with greater awareness of how contexts energize and liberate our capacities.

125 for full workshop or $30 per day
