🟩 THROB TOUCH LAB 🟩

A queer-led somatic workshop to learn how to give and receive conscious, consensual and pleasurable touch. Facilitated by artist and s3xological bodyworker Gerard X Reyes

🟩 WHAT IS THE TOUCH LAB ?

Touch is one of the most powerful — and often neglected — ways to communicate, feel pleasure, and build connection. But where do we actually learn to touch? How do we express what we want, and honour boundaries?

THROB Touch Lab is a guided, somatic, and platonic workshop — a safe space to explore the art of touch, with yourself and others. Rooted in somatic education and queer sensuality, this 3-part experience offers tools to expand presence, clarity, and embodied communication.

🟩 WHAT TO EXPECT

🌀 Body scan + opening circle

1️⃣ GUIDED SELF-TOUCH

Ground into your body through guided solo touch and conscious breathing.

2️⃣ UNGUIDED SELF-TOUCH + YOUR MOVEMENT / DANCE

Follow your impulses to self-touch and move to music within a clear container.

3️⃣ GIVING + RECEIVING TOUCH

I will guide you in a practice of two dynamics from Betty Martin’s Wheel of Consent (giving + receiving) using hand/arm contact only. You will get to feel into and discuss wishes, then speak boundaries and receive touch. Then roles will switch.

🧘‍♀️ Integration + closing circle

🟩 YOU WILL LEARN TO

– Deepen body awareness

– Ask for the kind of touch you want

– Give and receive with clarity

– Express embodied “yes” and “no”

🟩 AN INVITATION FOR

🌈 All genders, orientations, and bodies (2SLGBTQI+ and allies)

💞 You can come solo, with a friend, or with a partner.

🧠 Neurodivergent folks (soft lighting, adapted sound environment)

🌀 Anyone curious about somatics, consent, sensuality, and communication. No prior experience required.

🟩 SAFETY + ACCESSIBILITY

THROB’S SHARED AGREEMENTS ARE:

-confidentiality

-consent with yourself and others

-the Tension studio requires us to keep our bottom underwear on – which makes it easier for most newbies!

-we refrain from touching others or cruising

-filming or photography is not allowed

-this is a sober, intentional space so we refrain from drugs or alcohol before or during

– Studio is not wheelchair accessible (2nd floor, 20 steps, no elevator — I’m truly sorry)

🟩 ABOUT YOUR FACILITATOR – Gerard X Reyes (they/he)

I’m a dance artist and certified somatic sexologist (Institute of Somatic Sexology, Australia), with over 25 years of embodiment practices including various dance forms, meditation, yoga, breathwork, Continuum, Feldenkrais, Qi Gong, and massage.

My work focuses on liberating the vital and er0tic power of the body.

I began this journey by channeling this energy into the queer art of voguing, and now I develop practices to reconnect us with our primal selves and instinctual wisdom, learning also from non-human beings. This helps me live more fully in my body and unlearn societal conditioning.

I’m also queer and non-binary, Uruguayan-Canadian. I’ve experienced deep discomfort trying to fit into imposed boxes, and I continue to heal this fragmentation through ongoing practice.

In my workshops — whether focused on somatic intimacy or voguing — I strive to create spaces where people feel welcomed and capable, wherever they’re starting from.
