Taxes for Nonprofit Organizations
A short, highly useful training to learn more about the tax rules governing the management of non-profit organizations
This training will give participants a comprehensive understanding of the tax issues affecting their non-profit organization, while providing practical insights into specific aspects of taxation.
The trainer will cover key concepts related to the Goods and Services Tax (GST) and the Québec Sales Tax (QST), as well as the specific tax obligations of non-profit organizations (NPOs).
The main objective is to provide objective information on your organization’s tax obligations while answering concrete, practical questions. For example, topics such as the taxation of membership fees and the key differences between T4, T4A, and T5 forms will be discussed.
Objectives
- Identify the taxes that an NPO must pay or can recover.
- Record these taxes in the accounts.
- Recognize the important tax documents to prepare and submit.

A member of the Ordre des comptables professionnels agréés du Québec since 2004, Philippe Beaulieu (MBA, CPA auditor, CA) runs his own arts management practice, providing administrative support and tax advice to artists and cultural workers.
