Do you want to improve your skills for negotiating a performance agreement that will be successful and mutually beneficial? Do you need tools to help you draft an agreement or approach a presenter? This crucial stage of marketing a show requires thorough preparation and essential knowledge, which will be covered during the training.

Packed with practical tools and strategic advice, this workshop will introduce you to the key concepts of negotiation in a presentation context. You will learn how to establish a successful collaboration with presenting partners, identify and prioritize the needs related to your tour, negotiate responses to these needs, determine a fee schedule that considers both your requirements and the market context, and document these elements to facilitate drafting an agreement.

The training also includes specific work on the fee schedule with guest expert Fannie Bellefeuille.

This workshop comes with one hour of individualized coaching. A participant workbook and practical exercises will be available online throughout the training.

A 60-minute lunch break is scheduled from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m.

Learning objectives

  • Become familiar with negotiation elements such as the representation framework, duration, fees, technical conditions, outreach activities, and more;
  • Consider negotiation in its entirety;
  • Know the elements to consider when determining a show’s fee schedule;
  • Identify and prioritize touring-specific needs;
  • Be able to translate negotiated elements into a standard agreement template.
