CONTENT // Dance-Scapes are Creative Movement sessions dedicated to exploring the Body as our primary tool to Move, Express, and Learn. Based on a pedagogy of playfulness, the sessions propose a series of choreographic explorations that stimulate our inner spaces and help redefine the boundaries of our field of action and perception. Participants will be guided to cultivate physical creativity, embodied problem-solving and alternative expression and to engage in creating their own movement scores by referring to a multitude of sensations, concepts, tasks and imageries. Engaging in solos, duets, or group explorations, We will resort to movement to play, meditate, explore, question, connect and co-create. Dance-Scapes is an embodiment practice open to all curious movers from all levels, abilities and backgrounds. It is preferred to join the whole cycle for ensemble build-up but Drop-ins are always welcome(with prior registration).

ACCESSIBILITY // This class is facilitated by demonstrations and verbal instructions in both English and French. It aims at uncovering and cultivating potential rather than expected outcomes and skills. It is there fore accessible to all, including individuals living with physical, mental and visual challenges. It is not accessible to persons living with hearing challenges or autism spectrum disorder unless they haveIf needed, an assisting person whois welcome to join the class for no fee. BIO // Corinne Skaff is a Lebanese dance artist and pedagogue, newly relocated to Montréal to prepare for her Masters in SomaticEducation and Dance at UQAM. She approaches Dance as a vital self-embodiment practice instead of an entertainment proposition. Her practices of movement and teaching are informed by Contact Improvisation, Contemporary Dance, Physical theater, and Somatic practice principles. She draws inspiration from the state of ongoing learning through play, and all things ephemeral. She has an interest in transmission strategies and politics, and in fostering communal connections through movement practices. She is the founder ofContactCampBeirut and the summer School of Movement Arts and has taught in Lebanon, Greece, India, and Malaysia. She recently started teaching a weekly Contact Improvisation class in Montréal. Her 16 years of teaching experience include working with amateur and professional movers, as well as teenagers and refugees of all ages. As an immigrant herself, she looks for finding a sense of home in the Moving Body.

Evening classes are open to all levels, and it is recommended to register in advance for one or multiple classes.

Registration is done directly with the teachers, please contact them if you need additional information.
