Thanks to a partnership with Culture Montérégie, the RQD is able to tailor its renowned training program specifically for dance professionals in the region.

  • This part of the Coup de pouce program is exclusively for dance professionals in the Montérégie region.
  • You may submit an application from March 23 to April 10, 2026, at midnight.
  • Your application will be reviewed during the week of April 13, 2026.
  • Your training project must begin no earlier than April 20, 2026, and end no later than June 15, 2026.
  • Applications are processed on a first-come, first-served basis until funds are exhausted.

Who can submit a Coup de pouce Montérégie project?

  • The program is aimed exclusively at dance professionals (artists, cultural workers, managers, designers, etc.), whether salaried (full-time or part-time), self-employed, receiving employment insurance or social assistance, or graduate students (bachelor’s, master’s and doctorate, full-time or part-time).
  • Temporary foreign cultural workers are eligible if they hold a valid work permit at the time of their Coup de pouce training activity.
  • The Coup de pouce Montérégie program is exclusively for applicants based in this region, as the funds that finance it come from a budget dedicated to training projects in the Montérégie region.
  • You do not have to be a member of the RQD or Culture Montérégie to receive a Coup de pouce grant.
  • Professionals in artistic disciplines other than dance, as well as high school or college students, are not eligible for the Coup de pouce Montérégie program.

Important: all candidates participating in the same Coup de pouce project must meet these criteria.


 

Type of eligible trainings

  • Customized individual training.
  • Customized training for a small group of participants with a similar need.

 

Eligible areas of competency

Your training project must lead to an improvement in your skills, employability or employment conditions in any field of skills, such as:

  • Artistic, discipline-based or related artistic skills.
  • Career, cultural organization and human resources management.
  • Overall knowledge of the cultural community, of law, and of the globalization of artistic activities.
  • Advertising, communications, development and marketing.
  • Audience development and cultural mediation.
  • New technologies.

 

Ineligible projects

  • Projects from dance professionals working outside the Montérégie region.
  • Training programs, classes, or workshops already eligible for the RQD’s Dance Training Support Program.
  • Hiring of a consultant mandated to carry out the project or of a collaborator required for the project.
  • Learning or rehearsing a show.
  • Participation in an information session, a conference, a colloquium, a convention, a seminar, a symposium, a lunch-and-talk or any other event of this type.
  • Learning a second language or participating in a francization project.
  • Training or internship offered outside Quebec.
  • Maintenance and development of skills or qualifications required by law or regulation (example: health and safety at work).
  • Self-taught training or without a formal framework.

How do I submit a Coup de pouce Montérégie project?

  1. Define your training needs, identify the skills you want to develop, and set your learning objectives.
  2. Contact the instructor of your choice; make a note of their full contact information, hourly rate, and whether they are registered for tax purposes.
  3. Discuss your training plan with them in detail.
  4. Fill out the registration form with the help of your trainer.

 

Duration of projects

The maximum duration of a Coup de pouce Montérégie project is set at 12 hours.


 

Processing of applications

The Director of Professional Development and the Continuing Education and Professional Development Coordinator will ensure that your project is eligible, relevant, and realistic, that it constitutes a training activity, and that it has the potential to improve your employment situation. They will also verify your eligibility for the program and the expertise of your trainer.


 

Participant’s financial contribution

  • 15% of the total project cost, including 10% management fees.

 

Evaluation

After completing your Coup de pouce Montérégie training, Culture Montérégie will provide you with a satisfaction survey that is important to complete and return within the specified time frame. Your responses provide relevant data that is essential to maintaining the quality of our training programs.
