In this dance class, Marie Claire Forté invites us to be in relationship with oneself, others, and the world through dance. We warm up to activate sensation and find support with short proposals from dance, interval training and Pilates. Then, dance is at the forefront.

Set combinations, loosely inspired from ballet and related techniques, invite us to access our strengths and understand where we can improve coordination and integration. Open proposals with precise cues, sometimes physical, sometimes metaphorical, encourage us to dance with our whole history in movement. You will sense, feel, look and listen, you will explore with rigour and (hopefully) pleasure while stimulating imagination and sensation.

Maximum capacity : 30 people

Marie Claire Forté dances, choreographs, writes, translates and teaches, namely at Concordia University. She leads her own projects and works with artists she loves, recently including Louise Bédard, Katie Ward et PME-ART. From 2017 to 2019, she was a dancer in residence à l’Agora de la danse. In 2016, she produced the exhibition project and publication – I’d rather something ambiguous, mais précis à la fois. with her friend Sophie Bélair Clément at the Leonard & Bina Ellen Gallery. Marie Claire also danced for the defunct Le Groupe Dance Lab (Ottawa) where she trained daily with Peter Boneham.
