Workshop : Lara Kramer – Galaxies i want to meet
Description
This workshop brings together two artists from different generations, Lara Kramer and Kéïta Fournier-Pelletier, whose ongoing relationship through mentorship creates a space for intergenerational exchange around teaching, methodology, and collaboration. Grounded in a shared curiosity about experimental sound development, Galaxies I Want to Meet invites participants to explore their sound practices as tools for research and solo creation.
A key focus is improvisation, particularly the relationship between physical movement, objects and materials, sound creation, and the impulses that shape the creative process and performance. Drawing on their interest in multidisciplinary collaboration, participants will explore how different media inform one another.
Open to artists, writers, and dreamers, the workshop encourages playful, embodied exploration of sonic and material elements.
Content
We will take the time to guide participants through different exercises around themes of memory and dreams using different mediums: movement, sound & music, writing, visual arts (all forms are welcome), as a starting point for exploration and creation. Through stations of experimentation, participants will work in solo, duo and small groups using field recordings indoors and outdoors as creative material, loop pedals, voice, objects, and instruments to create improvised scores and performances. The workshop encourages exchange, shared discoveries, and experimentation across mediums.
