Seeking an Audiodescription Coordinator
Position Type: Employee, 12 hours/week
Location: Montreal / in-person, with hybrid work possible
Compensation: $27–$28/hour, depending on experience and qualifications

A Montreal-based cultural organization since 1982, Danse-Cité is a hub for dance creation, production, and presentation—a space for exploration, artistic vitality, and community that seeks to stimulate practices, cultures, and audiences.
Since 2021, Danse-Cité has positioned itself as a pioneer in the practice of live audio description for dance and circus performances in Quebec. Each year, Danse-Cité provides hundreds of blind and partially sighted individuals with regular and equitable access to arts and culture. Through a rich program of performances offered with live audio description, Danse-Cité ensures that youth and adults living with visual impairments can enjoy exceptional artistic discoveries.
Your Role and Responsibilities
Reporting to the Director of Development and Communications, you will serve as the operational core of the programming of performances offered with live audio description, as well as activities that improve accessibility to the arts.
Your main responsibilities include:
Planning and Logistics
- Contribute to the ideation of initiatives.
- Implement event and activity schedules.
- Support administrative tasks (contracts, budgets, and quotes/proposals).
- Ensure the quality of services delivered to all partners.
Audience Relations
- Participate in promotional activities and audience development initiatives.
On-Site Coordination
- Act as the primary point of contact on event days.
- Manage unforeseen issues.
- Ensure the event runs smoothly according to schedule.
Follow-Up
- Prepare post-event reports.
- Maintain and organize records and archives.

- Organization, attention to detail, and autonomy: You have a strong eye for detail and can manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- People skills, energy, and positivity: You possess strong interpersonal skills and a people-centered approach.
- Relevant experience in universal accessibility.
- Team spirit: You enjoy collaboration and have excellent relationship-building skills.
- Flexibility: Available to work occasional evenings and weekends (depending on the event schedule). Work hours will be determined according to project needs and the availability of the successful candidate.
- Excellent command of French, both spoken and written.
- Good command of English, both spoken and written.
