Armando Menicacci is a professor, digital artist, and filmmaker specializing in the relationships between the performing arts and technology. After studying dance and music, he completed a Master’s degree in musicology at Sapienza University of Rome and a PhD at Université Paris 8 on the links between contemporary dance and digital technologies. He founded the Médiadanse Laboratory and later contributed to the development of the Dance and Technology program at UQAM, as well as the Laboratoire Arts Vivants Interdisciplinaires (LAVI). In 2021, he co-founded STUDIO SIT Scènes Interactives Technologiques.

About STUDIO SIT

Founded in 2021 by Armando Menicacci and Nicolas Berzi, STUDIO SIT Scènes Interactives Technologiques is a non-profit organization dedicated to research and technological development in the performing arts. The organization supports the creation, production, and distribution of projects integrating advanced audiovisual and digital systems. Its mission is to make these technologies more accessible and facilitate their integration into artistic practices. Bringing together dance, theatre, computing, and interdisciplinary approaches, STUDIO SIT Scènes Interactives Technologiques develops interactive, hybrid, telepresent, filmed, and web-broadcast stage systems, while also supporting knowledge transfer through training and mentorship activities.
