Adolescent Engagement and Motivation

Tuesday, March 24 | 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.

Drawing on her daily practice with adolescents, Sarah Lefebvre will share concrete experiences to better understand the dynamics of motivation and engagement specific to this age group. She draws from real situations in schools and youth intervention settings, where trust-building, active listening, and recognition of individual needs have transformed relationships and fostered more authentic participation from young people.

This training offers practical, immediately applicable strategies to encourage adolescent engagement in a variety of contexts: schools, community centers, youth centers, youth programs, etc. It highlights relational and pedagogical approaches that have proven effective, such as establishing a safe framework, adapting communication strategies, and emphasizing individual strengths.

Participants will leave with concrete tools to create an environment that fosters engagement, where young people feel heard, empowered, and supported. This training is primarily intended as a space for reflection and professional development, enriched by a wide range of field experiences.
