Seeking for Cultural Mediator
Festival Quartiers Danses is looking for a Cultural Mediator to join the team in November 2025!
The Festival Quartiers Danses (FQD) is seeking a passionate and motivated individual to fill the position of Cultural Mediator. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with festival artists, community partners, external collaborators, and the FQD team in a warm, open, and collaborative environment.
Depending on the position’s evolution and departmental needs, this role could grow into a co-leadership position within the mediation department.
SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES
- Training in cultural animation, cultural research, or any other relevant field;
- Experience working with diverse audiences (e.g., seniors, people with mental health challenges, people with intellectual disabilities, children, teens, young adults, etc.);
- Experience in cultural mediation/animation and/or front-of-house work;
- Interest and experience in working with youth audiences;
- Excellent verbal communication skills, including non-violent communication;
- Ability to adapt to a constantly evolving environment;
- Strong interpersonal skills, tact, diplomacy, good listening abilities, and teamwork;
- Creativity, resourcefulness, good judgment, autonomy, organizational skills, and administrative rigor;
- Comfortable traveling regularly to different neighborhoods in Montréal;
- Proficiency with office tools (Excel, Word, Google Drive);
- Excellent command of spoken and written French, as well as good knowledge of spoken and written English;
- Experience writing grant applications is an asset;
- Knowledge of, practice in, and/or a strong interest in dance and the performing arts.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Creativity, resourcefulness, good judgment, autonomy, organizational skills, and administrative rigor;
- Comfortable traveling regularly across Montréal;
- Proficiency with office software (Excel, Word, Google Drive);
- Excellent written and spoken French and good written and spoken English;
- Experience writing grant applications is an asset;
- Knowledge of and/or a strong interest in dance and the performing arts.
EMPLOYMENT CONDITIONS
- Part-time: Approximately 20 hours per week (to be determined based on the candidate’s availability and departmental needs)
- Start date: November 2025 – possibility of a gradual start
- Salary: $20 to $22/hour depending on profile and experience
- Partial remote work and flexible hours
- Access to all FQD performances and regular invitations to dance events in Montréal throughout the year
- Possibility for the role to evolve into departmental co-leadership
