Holder of a Guinness record in boleadoras (art of manipulation/dance), Quebecer Sarah Louis-Jean is an artist who has distinguished herself internationally.
She graduated in professional dance training (classical dance specialization) from the Pierre Laporte School in ballet in addition to having studied in renowned schools such as the École Supérieure de ballet du Québec, National Ballet School of Toronto, Alvin Ailey, Broadway Dance Center, etc. These dance studies led him to master several dance styles: contemporary, international, urban and circus dances, among others. She completed her training with a certificate at the National Circus School of Montreal as a circus instructor.
Performance
We have been able to see her perform on the 5 continents in varieties, cabarets and circuses such as Cirque du Soleil, Cirque Éloize, the 7 fingers of the hand, Cirque Roncalli, GOP, Hansa Theater, Krystallpalast, Wintergarten, as well as with Les Sortilèges, the Cabaret du Casino de Montréal, Atlantic City Resort, Dracula's Cabaret, etc.
Artistic direction
Sarah Louis-Jean served as Artistic Director for Cirque du Soleil’s Cuts shows in Punta Cana. She is currently the director of Cirkbeats, an artistic hub, as well as Tempoflo, a multidisciplinary performance project (http://tempoflo.com, Just for Laughs Festival).
She has also produced a variety of group and solo productions, including Tempos Sauvages, Amalg@me, and KariSma (Montreal Jazz Festival, Francos), among others.
Television/Movies/Cinema
On television, she has performed in dance shows such as Chanteurs Masqués (TVA), la Semaine des 4 Julie (Noovo), Au Following (Radio Canada), Génial (Télé Québec), Match des Étoiles (Radio Canada), So You Think You Can Dance (CBC) as well as in films and various commercials.
Cultural Management/Education/Community
In addition to being an artist, Sarah Louis-Jean gives back by helping artists and companies in the field of communications, project management and by giving workshops and doing cultural mediation.
