Studio Mariko Tanabe Danse

Whether it’s for your classes, workshops, rehearsals, or intimate small-group presentations, the Mariko Tanabe Studio is an ideal rental space—peaceful and minimalist. Bright and airy, the studio can serve as your blank canvas for creation or your oasis of calm for work and teaching sessions.

Located at 5445 De Gaspé Street, Studio 609A (follow the green arrows) is on the 6th floor. It is soundproof and now equipped with private fiber-optic Wi-Fi (50 Mbps). The studio features a maple sprung dance floor (see dimensions) and large windows overlooking the Plateau towards eastern Montreal. You can choose to use our semi-opaque white curtain, which covers the windows while still allowing natural light to enter. The space is wheelchair accessible with ramps and elevators. A sound system with auxiliary input and CD player is available. Folding chairs are also provided for your use. Due to the pandemic, shared mats, blocks, or blankets are not available until further notice.

Studio Amenities:

• Capacity: 9 people per class, including the instructor; 3–4 people per rehearsal. This may vary depending on current health regulations. Please inform us of the number of participants and the type of activity when booking.
• Private fiber-optic Wi-Fi (50 Mbps).
• Heated, uncolored maple sprung dance floor.
• Sound system with CD player and auxiliary input.
• Optional semi-opaque white curtain for windows, letting in natural light.
• 10 sturdy folding chairs.
• Bathrooms are located just outside the studio, a few meters away. They are spacious, with a large mirror, and can be used as changing areas.

Rental Rates:

• Regular: $16/hr
• For classes, workshops, and intensives: $22/hr, or $20/hr for RQD members
• 40-hour package: $2 discount per hour on the initial rate
• $14/hr for RQD members

Mariko Tanabe Studio is a nonprofit organization; no taxes are charged.

Note: We reserve the right to adjust rates depending on the number of participants and required equipment. For other types of events (filming, photo sessions, readings, receptions, public presentations, etc.), please contact us to determine a suitable rate.
