“Standing Tall” Workshop – Reclaiming Power Through Movement

On the occasion of Restorative Justice Week, held from November 16 to 23, 2025, Montréal Danse is partnering with the Centre de services de justice réparatrice (CSJR) to offer a movement workshop grounded in sensitivity and care.

Titled “Standing Tall,” this workshop invites participants to inhabit their bodies differently — to listen to their sensations, to reconnect with themselves and with others in a safe and respectful space.

Inspired by the words of Geneviève Rioux, spokesperson for the Centre de services de justice réparatrice, the theme “Standing Tall” opens a space for reflection and transformation: after a difficult experience, how do we reclaim agency over our bodies and our stories? How do we gently begin to move again, at our own pace?

The workshop will be guided by Hoor Malas, choreographer, performer and facilitator for DCV, known for her grounded, gentle, and deeply human approach. Through a guided movement exploration, participants will be invited to reconnect with their sensations and allow whatever wishes to emerge from the body — without expectations.

We will conclude with an optional sharing moment, offering space to express a word, a sensation, or a gesture arising from the movement.

This workshop is designed as a moment of well-being and presence with oneself — it is not a therapeutic space, but rather an opportunity to integrate and be together, gently.

If a need for more individual support emerges, we will be happy to guide you toward appropriate resources.
